KENOSHA, WI–The UAW Local 72 building will soon have new owners.

City documents indicate that the building on Washington Road just east of 39th avenue will be sold to Bear Development, which has applied for a liquor license for the facility. Such a license would allow the new owners to continue to rent out the hall, which is used for various public and private functions.

The sale of the building became apparent last week when officials announced that they were holding a moving sale. That will be held on Thursday. The building was quietly put on the market a year ago and no sale has yet been finalized.

As there is no active auto manufacturing in Kenosha anymore, the UAW primarily serves retirees in the community.
