KENOSHA, WI (WLIP)–The Kenosha Unified School Board has approved a capital improvement plan that includes a new floor for the Bradford Field House.

$400,000 from KUSD’s capital improvement budget will go towards the floor.

However the vast majority of the money will be from the $2.8 million the district received when a TID District in Pleasant Prairie closed down.

KUSD Chief Financial Officer Tarik Hamdan told the board that money offers a perfect opportunity for the project.

Some members of the board expressed the difficulty they were having with approving money for the project.

After hearing-and seeing-the deterioration of the over four decade old floor however all of the members voted to fix it.

In all the board approved nearly $4 million in capital improvements across the district.
