KENOSHA, WI (WLIP)–The Kenosha Common Council has declared April to be Mental Health Awareness month.

That move came Monday night as the council also approved a memorandum of understanding which will allow patients who are involuntarily held for mental health issues to be brought to Lake Behavioral Hospital in Waukegan.

Alderman Jack Rose says that is a major step forward.

The agreement has previously been approved by the Kenosha County Board and other legislative bodies to become reality.
