Wauconda Man Facing Charges After Crashing Children’s Triathlon

(Wauconda, IL) A Wauconda man was arrested over the weekend, after he reportedly drove recklessly through the streets during an outdoor event. Police say Jack Hazen drove through a barricade, then sped down a roadway hitting several traffic cones on Saturday morning. The incident took place during a children’s triathlon, and kids were present as the incident was unfolding. Hazen was eventually taken into custody and has been charged with felony aggravated assault with a motor vehicle, misdemeanor reckless driving, and other driving related violations. No one was injured. Bond was set at 500-thousand-dollars, a court date is set for Wednesday
