Waukegan Bank Robbery Suspect Also Accused of Failed Robbery Attempt

(Waukegan, IL) A man being sought for robbing a Waukegan bank earlier this week, is also now accused of a robbery attempt just hours earlier. The suspect was said to rob a Great Lakes Credit Union branch on Monday afternoon by implying he had a weapon. He was able to flee with an undisclosed amount of cash. Police and FBI officials say their investigation shows a subject with a similar description attempted, but failed, to rob the Plaza Currency Exchange in the 13-hundred block of North Lewis Avenue. That incident happened about 6 hours before the bank robbery. Anyone with more information on either case is encouraged to call authorities.
