WLIP Sports Round-Up 10/8/19

High School Soccer…The St Joseph Lancers used four first half goals to go on to a 6-1 win over Racine Lutheran; St Thomas More defeats Shoreland Lutheran 2-0; 

 

Today’s games: Bradford at Tremper; Oak Creek at Indian Trail; 

 

NBA Preseason…The preseason schedule opened last night as the Bucks beat the Bulls 122-112. The Bucks play the Jazz tomorrow night; the Bulls host the Pelicans. 

 

MLB Postseason…The Yankees are in the American League Championship Series, eliminating the Minnesota Twins 5-1 in a three games to none sweep. The Tampa Bay Rays stave off elimination with a 10-3 win over Houston. The Astros still lead the ALDS 2 games to 1. Game 4 is tonight.  

 

On the N.L. side, both Division Series are tied at two games a piece and are going to a deciding Game 5. The St Louis Cardinals edge the Atlanta Braves 5-4 in 10 innings. The Washington Nationals beat the L.A. Dodgers 6-1. 

 

Monday Night Football…The San Francisco 49’ers remain one of two undefeated teams in the NFL, eviscerating the Cleveland Browns 31-3.  

 

Midwest Football Tournament…The Racine Raiders host the Illinois Cowboys on Saturday. Kickoff set for 7 PM here on WLIP.
