Prison Time in Fatal DUI Crash

(Waukegan, IL) A Grayslake man is on his way to prison, after pleading guilty to his role in a fatal crash. Steven Rosellini put in a plea to one count of aggravated DUI resulting in death, stemming from a March 2018 incident in Round Lake Park, that killed a Round Lake Beach man. Rosellini was able to get other charges dropped because of his plea deal. The 27-year-old was sentenced to 7 and a half year in prison.

Riverwoods Man Faces Federal Indictment

(Chicago, IL) A Riverwoods business man is facing a sweeping federal indictment. The U.S. Attorney’s Office says Yale Schiff is facing 11 counts of bank fraud, and two counts of aggravated identity theft. Prosecutors say the 44-year-old falsely claimed that loans on properties were paid in full, while in reality he kept the loans, as well as proceeds from sales of the property. He is also accused using false and stolen financial information to get loans for expensive vehicles, which he then resold for profit, while keeping the loan money….among other alleged crimes. Schiff could face significant prison time, and massive fines if convicted. Future court dates are currently unknown.

Zion New Police Chief

(Zion, IL) The City of Zion has a new Police Chief. The City Council has promoted deputy police chief Kirk Henderson to the “top cop” position. Henderson will replace Stephen Dumyahn, who is retiring as part of a plan by Zion to close a 1,6-million-dollar budget gap. As another part of that plan, Henderson’s deputy chief spot will not be filled.
