Woman Dies After Shooting in Southern Lake County

BARRINGTON, Ill. (WLIP) — A 42-year-old woman died Sunday after being shot in Barrington, authorities said.

Police responded to reports of a shooting in the 400 block of West Russell Street at approximately 5:40 p.m.

Officers found Olga Duchon of Vernon Hills suffering from a gunshot wound.

She was rushed to Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital, where she was pronounced dead in the emergency room.

An autopsy conducted Monday by the Lake County Coroner’s Office determined that Duchon died from a gunshot wound to the chest.

The Barrington Police Department and the Major Case Assistance Team are investigating the shooting.

No arrests have been reported.
