Some Kenoshans are expressing concerns over the merging of two fire stations into the new Station number one that is scheduled to be operational next month. And the Fire Department has a message for those citizens-”we hear you.” However as Chief Chuck Leipzig explained to WLIP’s Wake Up Kenosha, based on new technology, the new station is in exactly the right spot.

That corner is at the bustling intersection of 22nd Avenue and 52nd Street on the site of the old Bain Elementary School. Closing down will be a station on Roosevelt Road in the city’s Uptown neighborhood, and a station farther north on 22nd Avenue and Washington Road. Leipzig says those old facilities will be missed.

The new station will be open August 6th.
