WASHINGTON D.C.—A bill to go after the financing of human trafficking is moving forward in Congress.

The measure’s sponsor, Congressman Bryan Steil, told WLIP’s Wake Up Kenosha that the bill enjoys broad bi-partisan support.

The bill aims to hold foregin countries accountable for the roughly 150 billion dollars globally that ends up in human trafficking.

Steil says that while it is a global issue, it affects local communities including a recent case in Racine.
