KENOSHA, WI— The Kenosha Unified School Board has selected returning member Yolanda Santos-Adams to fill the seat left vacant by Gary Kunich.

Santos-Adams served previously on the board in the early 2000’s and plans to run again in the spring. She cited positives in the district during her statement, including KUSD’s improving graduation rates, and recent building improvements.

She also expressed concern because of a widening achievement gap, a regressing bilingual program, and falling teacher morale.

11 candidates expressed an interest in filling the vacant seat.
