Man Arrested After Allegedly Being Found With Stolen Firearm

Zion, IL (WLIP)–An Urbana man was arrested and charged following an interaction with Zion Police early Saturday.

Officers were called to the intersection of Green Bay and Russell Roads for a vehicle parked in traffic with several men asleep inside.

Officers awoke the men and determined they were impaired.

The front seat passenger-identified as 30 year old Kenneth Gullens refused to exit and wanted to retain possession of the vehicle despite his alleged impairment.

He was removed from the vehicle and handcuffed.

When officers searched him they reportedly found a loaded gun reported stolen from an Indiana law enforcement agency.

Gullens is now charged with multiple felonies and held in jail.

The driver of the vehicle was arrested and charged with DUI. A third man was released.
