Man Charged in Cheddar’s Murder
KENOSHA, WI—Charges have been filed against a Kenosha man and his daughter in connection with the death of a Kenosha teen.
19 year old Khaled Alchaar was shot and killed in the Kenosha Cheddar’s Restaurant parking lot May 20th in what police are saying is a drug deal gone bad.
Pleasant Prairie Police allege that 44 year old Shawn Amelio Senior and 19 year old Christina Amelio met Alchaar to sell him marijuana in their vehicle in the restaurant’s parking lot.
However Amelio Senior reportedly told authorities that Alchaar pulled on gun on them and announced that he was robbing them and left the car with the drugs. Police say that Amelio Sr then left the car and fired a single shot towards Alchaar, fatally striking him.
Alchaar was able to stumble away and was found by witnesses nearby. After they were unable to locate Alchaar, the Amelios left the scene in their vehicle. They later learned he died through social media.
Amelio Sr faces a slew of charges, the most serious of which is second degree reckless homicide with a dangerous weapon. Christina Amelio faces drug charges.
They’re both due back in court on October 17th.
