Man Charging With Punching Police Officer During a Protest
KENOSHA, WI (WLIP)—A Kenosha man has officially been charged with punching a police officer.
52 year old Lance Hoff reportedly attended a “Back the Blue” rally in Kenosha last month when he allegedly punched an officer who was in plainclothes but was displaying a badge. The officer was dealing with a situation among the protesters when Hoff allegedly landed the punch of the side of the officer’s face.
Hoff claimed at a previous court hearing that he thought he was acting in self-defense.
The criminal complaint filed Wednesday states that Hoff apologized to the officer afterwards but was still arrested and then later released on a 2-thousand dollar signature bond.
Hoff is charged with felony battery to a law enforcement officer, and disorderly conduct.
