KENOSHA, WI–Kenosha Police have released a statement about the arrest of Kenosha County Board Chairman Daniel Esposito.

Esposito was arrested at the Kenosha Menards store after he allegedly drove away with 627 dollars worth of construction supplies without paying.

Esposito was released from jail a short time later and was not required to post bond. Kenosha Police say that they were unaware of Esposito’s release until after it happened.

The investigation is ongoing and police say more details may be released after it’s completed.

The Walworth County District Attorney’s Office is handling the prosecution element of the case.

Esposito could face a felony theft charge
