KENOSHA, WI—The public will get to have a look at planned changes coming to Highway KR. The road that borders Kenosha and Racine Counties is undergoing a major facelift.

A public meeting regarding the second phase of the reconstruction plan is set for Thursday evening from 5 until 7 at the Somers Village Hall on Highway E.

The public will be able to review details about the project that will expand the road from two lanes to four with wider shoulders, railroad overpasses, and the addition of medians.

The Kenosha County Board approved the changes earlier this year as did the Racine County Board. Kenosha County will need to purchase almost 69 acres of farmland to complete the expansion.
