KENOSHA, WI–A crash involving a pickup truck and two semis closed I-94 for most of yesterday, reopening just in time for the afternoon rush.

The crash happened around 4:30 AM when a 31 year old driver of the pickup, who reportedly does not have a valid drivers’ license, changed lanes and struck a semi tanker. The force of the impact pushed the semi into the median which ended up in the opposite lanes of traffic.

A second semi was struck by the median and then turned over on its side. All three drivers involved suffered non-life threatening injuries. At first the interstate was shut down in both directions with the northbound lanes reopening by mid-morning.

However the removal of hazardous materials from the overturned semi delayed the southbound lanes from reopening until around 2:30 PM.

The driver of the pickup was issued several citations in connection with the crash.
