NWL…The Kenosha Kingfish continued their winning ways, shutting out Battle Creek 5-0. The fish have now won seven of their last eight games. The Kingfish will rematch with the Bombers at 6:35 this evening at historic Simmons Field.
MLB…The Minnesota Twins defeated the White Sox 10-3. The Sox and Twins play game two tonight. Dylan Cease gets the start.
The Cubs and Brewers open a crucial three game series at Miller Park tonight; the first of back to back weekends the rivals will face each other. The Cubs enter the weekend tied with St Louis for first in the N.L. Central. The Brewers are two games back. Kyle Hendricks faces Gio Gonzalez in game one tonight.
The Cubs will reportedly call up Ian Happ from Triple-A Iowa. The corresponding roster move has not yet been announced.
NBA…The Milwaukee Bucks have added veteran guard Kyle Korver. The team announced the signing Thursday. The 38-year-old guard was waived July 7 by Phoenix — which acquired him in a trade with Memphis — making him a free agent. He averaged 8.6 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.2 assists and shooting 39.7% from 3-point range last season.
