Identities Released in Multiple Fatal Weekend Crashes in Lake County

(Lake Forest, IL) Another fatal weekend crash involving a motorcyclist is under investigation. Lake Forest Police say they responded to the area of Route 41 and Westleigh Road on Sunday afternoon for a crash involving a motorcycle and a semi. A preliminary investigation showed the motorcycle operator was attempting to pass in between two vehicles, when he clipped the semi. Authorities say 46-year-old Hector Gomez of Beach Park was ejected from the bike and died almost immediately. The semi-driver was unhurt. 

(Round Lake Beach, IL) A man killed in a motorcycle crash in Round Lake Beach has been identified. Officials say the incident took place on Sunday afternoon along Route 83 when a motorcycle collided with a vehicle attempting to turn into a business. The rider, identified by Coroner officials as 28-year-old Alexis Aguilar-Liberato, of Round Lake Beach, was ejected and pronounced dead at the hospital. The driver of the other vehicle stayed on scene. The situation remains under investigation. 

(Lake luff, IL) A man killed in a two-vehicle crash in the Lake Bluff area has been identified. Lake County Sheriff’s officials say Philip Jerina was behind the wheel of a pickup truck on Saturday morning, when he crossed from the southbound lanes of Route 43, into the northbound lanes and struck a semi with a loaded trailer. The 36-year-old Wadsworth man was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the semi, a 21-year-old Round Lake Beach man, was unhurt. The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation.
