KENOSHA, WI–The suspects in a fatal shooting of a Pleasant Prairie teen have pleaded not guilty.

44 year old Shawn Amelio Sr faces a charge of 2nd degree reckless homicide in the death of 19 year old Khaled Alchaar. 19 year old Christina Amelio faces drug charges in connection with the case.

The father and daughter combo claim that during a drug deal to sell Alchaar marijuana he robbed them, leaving their car in the parking lot of a restaurant.

Police say Amelio Sr claimed that Alchaar threatened them with a gun so he left the car as well and fired a shot toward him but did not realize Alchaar was hit. The suspects then fled the scene.

Amelio Sr is also charged with four counts of recklessly endangering safety and is being held on a $250,000 bond. Christina Amelio is free on a $2,500 bond. They’re both due back in court in January.
