KENOSHA, WI–The trial of a Racine man in the shooting death of a Kenosha County man began yesterday.

21 year old Markeith Wilson is the first of four suspects charged in the November death of Joseph Reilly to go to trial. One of Reilly’s friends was in the home that night when, according to his testimony, the front door abruptly opened.

A hand reached in and began to shoot. Reilly then grabbed his gun and returned fire. Less than a minute later the barrage of bullets had ceased. Reilly lay dying on the floor while the suspects fled.

Two of the alleged suspects were also hit and later dumped off at a gas station. The other two suspects were arrested the next morning after an extensive manhunt.

A woman in the home was also hit but survived her injuries. Reilly was shot 13 times and died at the scene. Testimony is scheduled to continue today.
