Two Injured, One Critically In Separate But Related Shootings

Zion, IL (WLIP)–Two people were injured-one critically-after two separate but related shooting incidents.

Zion Police say they responded to the 2300 and 2400 blocks of Joanna Avenue around 7:20 Saturday night on reports of shots fired.

Officers discovered a 17 year old male with a gunshot wound to the neck lying in the street.

Emergency life saving treatment was applied and the teen was taken to the hospital.

Police found several bullet casings in the area and surveillance video shows two groups exchanging gunfire from approximately a block apart.

Then late Sunday police again responded to the area for gunfire and found a 17 year old female who had been struck in the foot after bullets hit her home.

She was treated and released from the hospital.

Police believe the shootings are related as several of the people involved are allegedly known to have gang affiliations.
