OWI Suspected In Two Vehicle High Speed Rollover Crash
Mt Pleasant, WI (WLIP)–Mount Pleasant Police Officers responded to the scene of a two-vehicle roll-over crash in the 5200 block of Meachem Road.
It happened Sunday evening just before 5:20 PM.
According to police reports, a Pontiac G6 was traveling southbound on Meachem at speeds exceeding 100 mph, overtaking vehicles on the right-hand side.
The G6 collided with a Nissan Maxima, causing both vehicles to roll over.
The driver of the G6, identified as 28 year old Gregory T. Jelks from Kenosha, was allegedly found to be impaired and subsequently arrested.
Jelks faces charges including OWI causing injury, three counts of 1st-degree reckless endangerment of safety, reckless driving, and two counts of bail jumping.
Fortunately, the driver of the other vehicle sustained only minor injuries and was transported to the hospital for treatment.
