Man Drowns In Petite Lake

LAKE VILLA, IL (WLIP)—A Round Lake Beach man is dead after apparently drowning in Petite Lake.

The incident happened around 5:45 PM Friday near the three hundred eighty-eight thousand block of North Cedar Crest Drive in unincorporated Lake Villa. The Lake County Sheriff’s Office reports that the 49 year old was at the Sandbar in the lake with friends for around two hours when he went missing.

They found him under the water near their boat unconscious. They were able to remove him from the water and brought him to shore while performing C-P-R. Further life-saving measures were not successful.

There were no signs of foul play or signs of trauma. An autopsy will be scheduled for the case.
