KENOSHA, WI (WLIP)–A Kenosha man will spend the rest of his life in prison after he was convicted of brutally killing his girlfriend.
The crime happened while Charnise Brown was on the phone with 9-1-1 calling for help.
Ranon Brownlee was convicted in Brown’s 2021 murder at trial late last year.
At yesterday’s sentencing hearing, Brownlee was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
Brownlee murdered Brown after she was said to have broken free from his control and was going to leave him.
Prosecutors say he shot and stabbed the victim multiple times after an argument in their Kenosha home.
The couple’s children were outside and heard the crime unfolding.
Jurors found Brownlee guilty after hearing the 9-1-1 call during the trial.
