KENOSHA, WI–A thunderstorm with strong winds cut power and caused damage in the area yesterday evening.

The storm swept through Kenosha and Racine Counties beginning around 5 PM with wind gusting in excess of 55 miles per hour. This left more than 3,000 WE Energies customers without power; damaging property and downing tree limbs.

Most of the outages were reported west of I-94 near Salem and Brighton as well as Twin Lakes and Paddock Lake. Scattered outages still remain this morning. The good news is that there are no storms in the forecast for today, the bad news is that there is a chance for a rainy Independence Day.
