Victim Left With Serious Injuries After Argument Turns Violent

Gages Lake, IL (WLIP)–A Gages Lake man was arrested after he allegedly assaulted another man with a knife during an argument.

The suspect is identified as 23 year old Anthony E. Osmena.

The altercation, which took place on Saturday around 9:20 a.m. resulted in severe injuries to the victim, a 24-year-old resident of Round Lake Beach.

Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a Lake County hospital upon receiving reports of a man admitted to the emergency room in critical condition.

Investigations uncovered that the victim and Osmena were together in a vehicle when they got into a heated argument.

The driver of the car made a stop near Eastwood Avenue and Chippewa Road in Gages Lake to drop off Osmena.

However, the dispute continued outside the vehicle, ultimately turning violent.

Osmena allegedly brandished a knife, inflicting serious injuries.

Osmena was arrested and faces multiple charges, including Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon, Aggravated Battery, Aggravated Battery in a Public Way, and Unlawful Use of a Weapon.

Meanwhile, the victim continues to receive medical treatment, and is reportedly showing improvement.
