(Ingleside, IL) An Ingleside woman has been arrested for what’s being called a random attack.

Authorities say Marquette Owens was taken into custody shortly after the Monday evening incident in the Grant Woods Forest Preserve.

Police alleged that Owens stabbed a woman several times in front of her young child, before fleeing on foot. The victim was able to flag down help and was hospitalized with serious but non-life-threatening injuries…the child was unhurt.

The 60-year-old Owens is now facing charges of attempted murder and aggravated battery. Her bond was set at 750-thousand-dollars.
